Hello bunnies, happy Friday! In Romania the majority of the population is orthodox christian so it’s actually Easter weekend here. And we are having a sunny day so far, I do hope your weather is just as lovely as mine ❤ !
Today I have a review and swatches of Makeup Revolution’s Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer in the shade Black Heart. If you follow me on Instagram you probably saw me wearing it 10 times already, but I’m here with more pictures and a full review of this beauty.
The product came in a cute box that was cropped on two sides so you could see your lip lacquer inside. I think I actually kept the little box because it is cute, but I have no idea what I am ever going to do with it. Hoarder.
The tube is made of transparent plastic and it has the brand’s and product name on it, and the cap is a black plastic one with a lip gloss wand attached. This just looks like a normal lip gloss/liquid lipstick, there is no fancier way to describe it and I don’t know why I am trying so hard.
Even though the Velvet Lip Lacquers dry out to a full matte finish, the product is extremely creamy until it dries off. It is very easy to apply even without a lip liner, I actually don’t have one that can match Black Heart so I just use it by itself. This thick cream consistency keeps it from running, so I guess it’s safe to go.
Just as a liquid lipstick, this product is very easy to glide on your lips and get an even application with the want alone.
Amazing color payoff! This applies so opaque and it is so pigmented, you could definitely consider it high end!
Velvet Black Heart is a very vampy dark shade. I saw it on a girl on Instagam and my main concern was WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LACK HEART AND VAMP??? In the pictures I couldn’t see much of a noticeable difference, but if you have them both, you can see that Black heart is actually a very dark purple, that is often considered a dupe of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Potion matte lip. Vamp on the other hand is a red toned color, that I know would be amazing for autumn but I just love wearing them whenever I feel like it.
As the name suggests, the Makeup Revolution Velvet Lip Lacquers dry out in a matte finish, and let me just say it takes less than two minutes for this to dry. You apply it and in no time you have the perfect matte, opaque lip.
This lasts on your lips as long as you want, and I am not kidding, it took olive oil and cotton wipes to rub this off my lips at the end of the day. It doesn’t stain the glasses and it’s even kiss-proof, might I add. And if you have lunch and dinner with it on, you might have to reapply in the inner center of your lip afterwards, if you have any greasy things touching your lips, but other than that you are good to go.
Now, as you expect, after this becomes matte, it’s totally dry and it also feels that way on your lips. So make sure you use a good lip balm before it.
All in all, I think the Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquers are my favorite lip products at the moment and I can’t wait to get more shades from this collection. Great job, Makeup Revolution! Black Heart is certainly my top pick but they do have a ton of more wearable shades if you’d like to check them out.
Have a beautiful weekend my loves, happy Easter if you are celebrating!
