L’Oreal Infallible 24h Foundation review

l'oreal infallible 24h foundation 130

Cake face! I decided to go with this as a greeting because you are all probably sick of me saying nice things to you, and this actually sums up my review too 😀 slightly…

Hey there bunnies, have you tried the L’Oreal Infallible 24h Foundation yet? I got it a couple of weeks ago and I mainly bought it because I had tried the tester on my hand and the scent was so beautiful, so fresh and so nice on my skin, that it probably hypnotized me to look past everything else ha ha.

Let’s start from the beginning, shall we?

Packaging

The L’Oreal Infallible foundation comes in a glass container with a black plastic pump and a see-through red plastic cap (that also has the shade written on it).

My shade is 130 True Beige but it is very light for a beige tone. I would have sworn this is a 120 maximum if I hadn’t seen the true number written on it. I have no idea, do all L’Oreal foundations go lighter than other brands? Maybelline’s 130 for example is a medium shade that would never fit pale skin tones.

Aaaaanyway the shade is a perfect match for me, so I’ll give them a thumbs up for that!

Scent

Sweet and fresh scent that makeup you want to rub your whole body in this. I sometimes leave a bit of foundation blended on the back of my hand so I can smell it throughout the day. I am weird.

Consistency

*Insert dramatic instrumental here*

This comes in a creamy texture, but it’s unfortunately very sticky. The stickiness makes it great for applying setting powder, but it also makes it hard to blend. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not impossible, but you need to do more blending than usual.

And if your hands are cold and you plan to blend this with your fingers…you are going to have a bad time.

Coverage

Because of how thick this is, I expected a full coverage and nothing less. It wasn’t the case, as it turned out to be a medium. I tried applying two coats of it and not even then did I get my full coverage finish.

Finish

Natural/Dewy, but you can easily use a matte powder and turn it into a matte finish.

Longevity

Lasts a good 10 – 12 hours if you set it with powder, BUT it gets really oily throughout the day. I would not recommend this for oily skin.

All in all, I don’t think I will be using this during the summertime, because I get pretty oily, but I will save it for the winter when I am sure it will do way better.

Do you have any tips for applying the L’Oreal Infallible 24h, have you tried it yet? ^_^ help an oily skinned sister out.

  1. I get quite oily skin especially in summer. I’m glad people can be honest in reviews instead of just saying that everything is amazing☺️💖

    • Heyyyyy dear! I haven’t found a great concealer yet, I must admit 😣 but if you are still working with Maybelline go ahead and ask them about the Fit Me anti-shine foundation stick. I thought it was a concealer for a few weeks before realising that it’s a foundation 😂 it’s not astonishing, but you can see a clear difference with it, I hope this helps xxx. And the props are usually decorations from flower arrangements 😁

  6. Good review. I haven’t seen the original Infallible foundation here in the States in ages. But L’Oreal came out with the Infalliable Pro-Matte foundation here earlier this year. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it so I want to give it a shot.

  7. I read so many reviews that this foundation is perfect for combination/oily skin so I was thinking of getting this. Thank you for the heads up. 🙂

    • This is 100% not full coverage, I don’t even have acne, just the occasional spots here and there and I didn’t get a full cover 😕 and it’s definitely very thick.

      • Ahhh that sounds rubbish! :-0 I hate products that don’t act like they’re supposed to if it’s thick it’s meant to be full coverage!

  8. Really great honest review! I decided to get the infallible matte foundation rather than this one and I’m glad I did after reading this because my skin has been on the oily side lately x

  9. I have just swatched this foundation and it seemed very creamy and thick, so I skipped the purchase, because I don’t like anything that clogs the pores or feels too silicon-based. My little advice would be to apply a mattifying primer underneath, so that you don’t get the shine coming to the surface. You could even mix the two on top of a foundation brush and apply them both…
